How to uninstall a program
We know how easy it is to install a nasty piece of software, trust me, we’ve all done it. You download one thing you think is safe and boom, 4 more programs which are continuously running in the background and occasionally popping up to you.
With Windows 10 you can easily search “uninstall” or “remove” in the search bar located in the bottom left corner. Click on add or remove programs. Skip to part 2.
If you can’t find the add or remove setting then go to the bottom left corner of your screen and click the windows button, and click the settings button. Then navigate to Apps. Skip to part 2.
With Windows 8 all you need to do is right click on the program and click uninstall. Alternatively, click the windows button and start typing control panel and press enter. Locate Programs which is in the bottom left corner and click on it. Skip to part 2
If you’re using Windows 7 or below then simply click on the Windows Icon and click control panel. Click on Programs or Programs and Features.
You should be seeing a page similar to this. If you don’t then you shouldn’t be far off.
Have a quick glance back and see if you have done the steps correctly, try another guide or look at the pictures located below and try to find your way. Remember we don’t all have the same programs so yours may slightly differ from ours.
Locate the Program that you want to uninstall and click on it. Click uninstall which should either pop us as a box or should be located near the top of the screen with other options like organize and/or change. Click uninstall and a new pop up box should appear, probably trying to persuade you to stay, click through the boxes and finish the uninstallation.
After you’ve removed a program, I recommend looking through all your programs and uninstalling any that you don’t remember installing or anything you don’t use. To be on the safe side, make sure you Google the programs before you uninstall them, if you don’t know if they’re important or not.
